City Hall, other offices to close on Friday, July 2 for furlough day; Monday, July 5 for Independence Day
ARCHIVED PRESS RELEASE: Published 6-28-2010
City Hall and other city offices will be closed Friday, July 2,
for a furlough day - and then on Monday, July 5, for the
Independence Day holiday. Public safety and mission critical
operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need
assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the City's
24-hour emergency number, 596-9488.
The furlough on Friday will not affect trash service and
curbside recycling, both of which will operate as normal on that
day. The City's greenwaste site, 10401 E. 56th St. North, also will
be open on Friday as usual from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but closed on
Sunday, July 4. The greenwaste site will reopen on Monday, July
5.
Because July 4 falls on a Sunday this year, residential trash
service will not be affected either in the once-a-week or
twice-a-week collection areas. Trash and recyclables will be
collected according to the usual schedule on Monday, July 5. The
only solid waste service not provided on Monday, July 5, will be
dead animal collection.
Tulsa Parks recreation centers will be closed Friday and Monday,
but the parks' outdoor facilities including pools will be
accessible as usual. The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter at
3031 North Erie Ave. will be open on Friday, and then closed on
Monday.
Mohawk and Page Belcher golf courses, as well as Tulsa Zoo, will
be open both Friday and Monday. Gilcrease Museum will follow its
usual operating schedule: open Tuesday through Sunday and closed
Monday, including July 5. The Tulsa Performing Arts Center
administrative offices will be closed both Friday and Monday, but
the ticket office will be open on Friday.
